An easy task for Dortmund at the end of the first round

Borussia Dortmund suffered defeat last weekend, the most unusual one of the season so far. The last year’s champion, who is currently with 14 points behind the current league leaders Bayern Munich, is on the third place, having lost with 2:3 against the relegation candidate VfL Wolfsburg.

Referee Wolfgang Stark had a particularly large share of the bitter outcome. The referee penalized a more than questionable handball by the Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer with a red card in the first half and gave another penalty for the black and yellow team. Shortly after the game, Stark apologized to the BVB for his wrong decision and described the scene as a perceptual error.

The DFB reacted immediately to these events and said that the player Marcel Schmelzer is free from a possible suspension after the red card. Wolfgang Stark won’t most probably be used at least for the rest of the season in any game of the BVB.

Somehow, the last game fits to the general manner of playing of Borussia during the season, which this year is just not in such good as it was in the previous year. The team lost points from Wolfsburg and not for the first time, in a very unfortunate way, as it has some important issues and had buried any hopes of defending the titlebefore the end of the first round.

Next weekend, the Klopp’s team will face another relegation candidate – Hoffenheim 1899.

The crisis in the Association of the patron Dietmar Hopp seems to have no end. After the defeat against Werder Bremen in the 15th round, leadership end the contract of Markus Babbel and the U23 coach Frank Kramer took over.

The new coach also immediately took some action and threw out of the squad until further notice the two legionnaires Joselu and Usami due to their lack of knowledge of German.

Moreover, the interim coach tried a new modified system and four new players. All these measures, however, were with no effect. Against Hamburg, the players of Hoffenheim 1899 presented badly, as so often this season and had almost no chance against Hamburg.

Currently Hoffenheim is at the relegation place, six points behind the 15th (and saving) rank. If they do not step up at the end of the season for the trip to the second in the Bundesleague, the club will respond as quickly as possible. A win against Borussia Dortmund would not be just the first step, but a big exclamation mark in the face of the competition.

If you believe the bookmakers, the odds for such bad are quite losing. If you try and bet, for a victory of Hoffenheim, you will get rates from 5.00 to 7.00. For the victory of the BVB the rates are only from 1.50 to 1.53.

Bundesliga Match Day 16: Bayern Leverkusen hunters win against Hannover

The biggest surprise of the last game day came from Bayer Leverkusen. Thanks to Eintracht Frankfurt and the draw of Schalke and Dortmund, Leverkusenwere are able to enter into the battle for the title race. At least they could fight for the second place in the standings, and are therefore, at least in the snapshot, the runner-up of Bavaria.

Bayer is at a comfortable starting position, with a match against Hannover 96 in this round. Even if the defensive Bayer are not always withstands the high demands, this wasn’t a problem in the previous league games and currently they hold in a series of four consecutive victories.

Also the fact that the team still has to play during the week in the Champions League should not be a problem. Since the team could book their place in the next round before the last game, the head coach Lewandowski used the match against Rosenborg to put some key players to rest, and at the same time – to give young players the chance before playing in the international competitions.

The next opponent Hannover 96 is currently not having a very successful streak. For them the next match could actually be crucial for the rest of the season. Actually, the team of the coach Mirko Slomka is next to the BVB, the surprise team in the last recent years. This season the team so far can not find their best shape, and currently occupies the 12th position in the standings.

After the last four lost matches in a row, Hanover 96 requires necessarily a successful result against Bayer Leverkusen for being able to compete for the international places. Although the team of Slomka previously could show a good performance, they are just three points away from the sixth place in the standing in the related qualifications for the European League. With a win against Leverkusen, the Hannover 96 could really make a great leap forward.

The obvious favorite in the match between Bayer Leverkusen and Hannover 96 is not easy to find. The former course of the season that we have seen so far does speak clearly for Leverkusen, but it is expected that the team of Hannover will be devotedly fighting for a chance to make up for the advantage of some places upwards in the chart.

Even the bookmakers expect an even match between the two teams. While the win odds for the Leverkusen with the top providers are from 2.35 to 2.40, there is a full point’s gain to the Hanoverian quotas as well – from 2.60 to 2.90.

Dortmund takes up good places in the Bundesleague charts

After the rather rocky start to the Bundesleague in season 2012/2013, Borussia Dortmund managed to achieve a successful turn. After last six league games without a single defeat, and with the tailwind of a sense of achievement, Borussia start off confidently in Europe’s elite.

At the 3rd place, the German champions from the past two years are theoretically the main target, as the direct qualifications for the Champions League is the aim of this year’s cup winners from last season. Whether the performance of the Dortmund team will be sufficient to overpower the hitherto sovereignly playing Bayern, making it to this year’s championship contest, however, remains yet to be seen.

The big game on the 15th gameday

The 15th round could be the trend to set the future direction for the Dortmunder. With a victory against the first chart’s results, their lead ahead of Munich team could be reduced. Whether a victory could be the signal for the start of a brilliant comeback, like it was in the last season, is still not certain.

In the end, the young team knew, indeed playfully, how to convince the coach Jurgen Klopp, but the team is still far away from the constancy of the last two years. Nevertheless, Dortmund should compete openly, and accept the trip to Munich. Borussia could all decide for themselves the last four meetings of the two teams in the Bundesleague.

The offense is the best defense

Another reason for the resurgent confidence of the Westphalia should also be the penetration force of their offensive players. Robert Lewandowski and Marco Reus ensured so far – with nine goals and five season – the mighty vortex into their opponents’ penalty area. As it is, a draw against Bayern would be neither advances nor retrogression, so it must be allowed for a lively exchange of blows from both teams that we all hope for.

The determination of the Dortmund palyers from past games showed, for example, that Sven Bender running (with a broken nose and no protective mask) against Mainz is highly likely to provide additional power to the big game. It is clear that Klopp and his championship team will continue trying their hand in the upward trend of the recent weeks.

The pressure on the 15th gameday is in any case on the German record champions, who, after 2 years without a championship reward, must maintain the peace, and despite the comfortable lead, it is all up to the Borussia team who are hoped for success and the will to win.
